Given its status as a popular tourist destination,
Hong Kong has many landmarks and tourist attractions
which serve as popular places to visit. This is
by no means a complete list, so please make additions
if you see any major attraction missing.
Victoria Peak :
Victoria Peak is a mountain in Hong Kong, China.
It is also known as The Peak locally , and Mount
Austin in some maps or documents. The mountain is
located in the southwestern part of the Hong Kong
Island. With an altitude of 552 m, it is the highest
mountain on the island and the 11th highest in the
entire territory of Hong Kong.
Stanley Market :
Stanley Market is a street market in Stanley on
Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The street is a typical
example of a traditional old open-air market in
Hong Kong and has since become a major tourist attraction,
well known for its bargains. Many of the stalls
or shops in Stanley Market sell Hong Kong souvenirs
as well as clothing - particularly silk garments
and traditional Chinese dress - toys, ornaments,
luggage, souvenirs, and Chinese arts and crafts.
The market grew out of Chek Chu Tsuen, a village
nearby.
Repulse Bay :
Repulse Bay is an area in the southern part of Hong
Kong Island, located in the Southern District, Hong
Kong.The well-known Repulse Bay Beach is located
on a beautiful bay with a long line of coast and
smooth sand. It is a Grade 1 beach for its good
water quality. In addition, large waves rarely hit
the beach, making it an ideal place for swimming.
Victoria Harbour :
Victoria Harbour is the harbour between the Kowloon
Peninsula and the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong,
China. With an area of about 41.88 km² as at
2004, its natural depth and sheltered location enticed
the British to occupy the Hong Kong Island during
the First Opium War, and subsequently established
the colony as a trade post.
Hong Kong Museum of Art :
The Hong Kong Museum of Art (Traditional Chinese:
?????) is a museum for Chinese cultural heritage,
and local and international art in Hong Kong. The
museum was established in the City Hall in Central
by the Urban Council in 1962. In 1991, it was moved
to the present premises at 10 Salisbury Road, near
the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Hong Kong
Space Museum, in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is currently
managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department
of the Hong Kong Government.
Clock Tower :
The Clock Tower is a landmark in Hong Kong. It
is located on the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui,
Kowloon. It is the only remnant of the original
site of the former Kowloon Station on the Kowloon-Canton
Railway. Officially named Former Kowloon-Canton
Railway Clock Tower, it is usually referred to as
the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower (Traditional Chinese:
?????) for its location.
Kowloon Park :
The Kowloon Park (Traditional Chinese: ????; pinyin:
Jiu Long Gong Yuan) is a large public park in Tsim
Sha Tsui, Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong. The park
is managed by Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
